ZICO ON THE HEELS OF WATER AS NUMBER ONE HYDRATING DRINK
In an effort to better understand our fan base, ZICO conducted a survey via Facebook to assess our demographic. The survey was less about gauging people’s knowledge on topics such as energy drinks, sports nutrition or the benefits of coconut water and focused more on how users discovered ZICO, their exercise habits, how often they consume hydration and/or recovery drinks like ZICO. Also, what they hope to get out of ZICO’s Facebook page (e.g., nutrition facts, health benefits of coconut water, stories about members of the community).
Among the more-than-500 people who took the 8-question survey, the majority discovered ZICO in-store or through a recommendation online or in person (not necessarily through a friend). Although water remains number one as the hydrating drink of choice, ZICO is giving it a run for its money—and well above traditional sports drinks and energy drinks and competing coconut water brands. Most drink ZICO for hydration or as a recovery drink after workouts and recreation, and ZICO also ranks high as a hangover cure (a.k.a. detox drink). Yoga, running and general aerobic activity take the lead in the exercise category over more organized sports, such as baseball and basketball. As far as what ZICO fans want to see on our Facebook page, facts on healthy living tops the list.
As an incentive for completing the survey, ZICO chose a fan, selected at random, to receive a complimentary case of ZICO Chocolate. Congratulations goes to Nanette L. of Austin, Texas! Thank you, Nanette, for liking us on Facebook and filling out our survey. We've got a 12-pack of ZICO Chocolate on its way to your doorstep. Enjoy all the benefits of coconut water with natural dark chocolate flavor for a delicious drink that’ll satisfy a thirst and a sweet craving, all in one.
ZICO looks forward to feeding all of its fans the kind of Facebook content they crave, from contests and sweepstakes to recipes and workout tips. Nutrition articles and information about sports nutrition; issues around hydration and electrolytes; and nutrition facts on natural drinks, detox drinks, low calorie drinks and recovery drinks will all be featured. In the meantime, here’s to good health and happy fans.
