ZICO’s Panel of Health and Fitness Experts Choose Amanda Russell to Appear in its “I Am Natural” Campaign!!
Earlier this summer, ZICO Pure Premium Coconut Water announced its search to find the most natural consumer as part of its “I Am Natural” campaign. The winner would replace supermodel Molly Sims on a ZICO billboard located at the corner of Watts and Thompson Street in Soho, New York City. In order to be selected, ZICO fans were encouraged to submit photos via ZICO’s Facebook page, stop by the ZICO booth at various race events, or participate in complimentary yoga and indoor cycling classes. Today, ZICO is excited to announce that its panel of experts, which includes Molly Sims, celebrity nutritionist Keri Glassman and author/ultra marathon runner Dean Karnazes, have unanimously chosen fitness enthusiast Amanda Russell as the new face of its campaign.
“While we were impressed by many of the submissions that we received and the people we met at our events, Amanda stood apart from the others,” said Mark Rampolla, CEO/Founder of ZICO. “She is an athletic, passionate and health-conscious woman who truly exemplifies what ZICO is all about. We are thrilled to be working with her.”
Russell, who was spotted by the ZICO team during the indoor cycling class at SoulCycle Tribeca in June, left her hometown of North Bay, Ontario after high school to train in Virginia on a Division 1 track scholarship to the University of Richmond. She wanted to pursue her dreams of becoming an Olympic runner. After an injury left her sidelined and unable to compete, she was forced to seek and invent different ways to maintain a long, lean runner’s body without being physically able to run. This mindset is now the inspiration behind her up-and-coming fitness program that she is currently developing and producing.
“As an athlete, I understand the importance of hydration and nutrition,” said Russell. “I have been a fan of ZICO for quite some time and religiously drink it before, during and after my workouts.
